Jonathan B. Jones is a lifelong New Jersey resident. Born in Red Bank and raised in Middletown, he moved to Ocean County as an adult and has chosen to make Little Egg Harbor his home for the past twenty years. Jonathan has come to love his adopted hometown. Jonathan developed an interest in computers and information technology at a very early age and has built upon that to become one of the best in his field.

Jonathan is a highly skilled engineer with an eye for public service. He has 25 years of experience working in public school districts, growing his knowledge through interactions with developers, system architects, and application owners. Jonathan has worked as a Technology Coordinator at public schools for 15 years, and he has been working in his current position as the Network Administrator for the Pinelands School District for the last 10+ years.

As a technology coordinator/network administrator, Jonathan has supervised employees, working in multiple departments (Security, IT, and Education).

He has experience in budgeting, where he has developed and implemented cost-saving plans for purchases including software, hardware, and licensing. Jonathan has developed and implemented plans for technology disaster recovery and security.

​

Project management experience specifically dealing with implementation and ongoing support of Information Technology projects is essential for success in his field. The ability to research, recommend, obtain funding, and implement technological advances as identified in industry/educational standards is critical to the success of our students and staff. The ability to identify and analyze network problems and recommend solutions is a key skill that Jonathan excels at.

Jonathan is not a politician, he is a neighbor who sees an opportunity to help his school district and is willing to do so.

Jonathan is running for the Little Egg Harbor School Board because he would like an opportunity to use his skills and experiences to aid and enrich our students and staff, bringing our district into the 21st century.
