The state of New Jersey is facing a public school funding crisis that is set to worsen in the 2022 fiscal year. According to a report by the New Jersey School Boards Association, the state is currently underfunding its public schools by $1.7 billion. This shortfall is expected to grow to $2.5 billion by the 2022 fiscal year.

To get ahead of this crisis we have to shore up our schools and get our financial house in order. Providing quality education is essential for our town's long-term success and health. The current economic condition has made these problems more pronounced and a severe risk to our town. We need to address these issues as follows:
