Jonathan B Jones
Candidate #5 for
Little Egg Harbor School Board
Why am I running for Little Egg School Board?
Reducing costs for schools and building a better environment for everyone, starts with getting the teacher contract settled so our teachers can focus on what's important, our kids. I would ensure we are getting every dollar from state and federal grants and aid. I am recommending bringing back an in-house grant writer to get us more competitive grants, which would bring in much-needed funds to offset the runaway inflation
Inflation can have a significant impact on school financing. For example, if inflation increases by 8%, then the cost of goods and services also increases by 8%. This means that the same amount of money will not be able to purchase as much as it could in the past. In addition, inflation can also reduce the value of money over time. For example, if someone saves $1,000 today, then in 10 years that same $1,000 may only be worth $700 due to inflation.
The effect of debt on public schools can be both positive and negative. On the one hand, debt can lead to improved facilities and resources for schools. On the other, debt can lead to financial problems and cutbacks in resources.
In general, state aid can have a significant impact on a local school district's budget. For example, if a school district receives a large amount of state aid, it may be able to use that money to offset some of its own expenses, thereby freeing up additional funds that can be used for other purposes. Conversely, if a school district receives little or no state aid, it may have to rely more heavily on its own resources to fund its budget.
WHY YOUR VOTE COUNTS
November 8th, 2022
The school board makes decisions about the schools in the district, including the budget, curriculum, and hiring and firing of staff.
There is no one-size-fits-all answer to school budgets, However, some potential options for improving public school financing in Little Egg Schools could include increasing state funding for public schools, redirecting existing funding to more effectively target specific needs within Little Egg Schools, or creating new revenue sources specifically for public education.
